If you are travelling from Gauteng to Malongane please remember that there are a lot of stop and go’s between Piet Retief and Pongola. We are receiving reports that some people took between 2 and 3 hours to travel that portion of the road that normally takes only 1 hour.
Please plan for the extra travelling time especially if you are taking a border pickup to Malongane and remember the border closes at 17h00.

FORR 2009
Our charity initiatives are fast gaining momentum with more and more people joining the “Pay it FORRward” committee. So far 3 projects have been identified:
The library project aims to collect English and Portuguese children books for the children of the Malongane primary school. You can contribute by donating books to this project.
The eye testing project will carry out eye test in the village of Malongane and will provide those in need with reading or prescription glasses. Part of the eye testing is to provide continuous care by training 5 community members to do basic screening tests – not only during the festival but also after the festival.
A music workshop will also be held to contribute towards a musical culture in Malongane. Who knows, just maybe someone will pick up a guitar, a jembe or flute and find the beautiful notes that captures the soul and beauty of Moçambique.
We still need more people to get involved with these projects to make sure that we achieve the maximum effect. You can help by offering your skills and time or by making donations towards these projects. To find out more about these projects and how you can help please visit http://www.forr.co.za/?page_id=61
