Fellowship of Rock & Roll

Since we don’t have any sponsor for the event we decided to create sponsorship chalets in order to help us foot the big bill of hosting the event. If you want to make sure you get one of these sought after accommodations for the festival you can booked it at the following prices before the bookings open on 7 May.

4 Bed chalets – R10,000 per unit
5 Bed chalets – R10,000 per unit
6 Bed chalets – R12,000 per unit
4 Bed rondawel – R8,000 per unit

Prices include accommodation for 3 nights and access to the festival.

This offer is only valid until 6 May. Any units not sold as sponsorship chalets will be available at the published prices to the first person that books it when the bookings open on 7 May.

Since most people are on leave this week thanks to all the public holidays we have decided to only open the bookings for September on Thursday 7 May at 13h00. A 50% deposit on your ticket price is payable within 3 days to secure your booking. The rest of your ticket is payable by 1 July and extras is payable by 1 August.

Rates for our September festival have been published on our website at http://www.forr.co.za/?page_id=309. Tickets start at R595 and include accommodation and access to the festival.

The reaction to our FORRTunes mail was amazing and by 9:00 on the 21st we had 5 bands confirmed for the first FORRTunes night. The line-up will be:

19:30 – Krisna Band
20:20 – Dayne & Mike
21:10 – Die Maverick
22:00 – Wolraad Woltemade
22:50 – Laconia

The event will take place at the Steak & Ale in Lyttelton, Centurion.

To us it is not only the quality of music that is important but also how the crowd reacts to a band. So if you believe one of these bands should play at FORR please come and support them.

Cover for the night will be R30.00 and all proceeds will be donated towards our “Pay if FORRward” charity project.

At FORR we are not only committed to bring you the best in alternative music at the most exotic locations in Southern Africa, we are also committed to exposed the best unknown talent, young or old, to the rock & roll community. It is in this spirit that we have decided to arrange the FORRTunes evenings.

If you are an artist or band that believes you have what it takes to play at the Fellowship of Rock & Roll festival in Malongane the FORRTunes evenings is your chance to show us why you should be part of the party. Each month we will arrange an evening at a venue in Gauteng were we will give a maximum of 5 artist/bands the opportunity to showcase their talent. Although this will not be a battle of the bands type of competition we will at the end of the day select at least 2 bands from these evenings to play at FORR.

The first of these evenings will take place on 28 April at Steak & Ale, Centurion. If you are interested to play on 28th please send a short Biog of your band to bands@forr.co.za. The first 5 artist/bands that apply will be selected for the evening.
