Hi,

Just a reminder that the online bookings for FORR 2010 closes on Friday 27 Aug @ 17h00. There are still general camping (R650) and 3 pre-pitched tents (R800) available. To book visit http://www.forr.co.za/Bookings.

General camping tickets will be available at the gate at R700 a ticket.

And remember, Saturday at FORR is fun dress day.

Jozini to border potholes

A lot of the potholes between Jozini and Kozibay have been fixed which makes the route an option to take again. There are however still some pothole on the road. Our special agents Andries & Hanna send us this report on where to lookout for potholes.

From Jozini dam wall to T-junction:
23.8km – potholes
25.4 – 29 km – potholes
31.4 – 32.2 km – potholes
35 – potholes

From T-junction to circle
21.6 – 22.5km – gravel road
30.3 – 31.9km – potholes
38km to circle (+/- 3 km) – lots of potholes

From the circle to the border the road is fine.

As before the grey classic Landy will depart from Pretoria. We leave at sunset 1 Sept and will be back on 5 Sept midnight. (slight chance if it suits everyone that we’ll return on Monday 6 Sept) Space for 4 people.

Cost R700 which includes:

1)We have all camping gear, tents, fridge, cooking gear etc. so you can camp and eat with us (food extra)

2) We do 4×4 daytrips to the beautiful lakes and beaches of Ponta du Ouro and Ponta Malongane.

3) So you just bring a sleeping bag if you want.

Friday 20 August will be the last day that you will be able to book and pay for your food options for this year’s festival. A limited amount of food will be sold for cash at the resort but there are no guarantees that you will get your portion. If you want eat at the restaurant during FORR, please book your meals on the bookings system (http://www.forr.co.za/Bookings) now.

The rest of the bookings and payments will close on Friday 27 August at 17h00.

Over 3 nights’ 11 bands competed for 3 spots at FORR 2010 festival. At the end it was not easy to pick the winners as not only their performance but also how their style of music will fit into the available slots had to be taken into consideration. Saturday is fun dress day

Do you have something in your closet that you always wanted to wear but just could not find the right occasion for it? Do you fancy yourself us a super hero? Or maybe you want to be your favourite character from a movie or cartoon? On the Saturday of FORR we are going all out with a fun dress day. Dress up, dress down, dress funny, dress weird but just don’t dress normal.

FORRTunes, battle for Malongane

12 bands will be battling it out over 3 different nights at Steak & Ale to earn their spot at this year’s FORR festival which will take place from 2 to 6 September at Malongane, Moçambique. At least 3 bands will be selected for the festival from al the FORRTunes evenings.

Most important criteria for selection will be crowd entertainment so if you want your favourite band to be selected come and show us how much you enjoy their music. Cover is only R30 and all proceeds will go towards the PayItFORRward charity initiative.

First bands for FORR 2010 announced

Some of South Africa’s top bands will be gathering at Malongane from 2 to 6 September for the second FORR festival. The focus has definitely been on quality rather than quantity with crowd entertainment being the main criteria. More bands will be added to the line-up soon including at least 3 up and coming bands selected from the FORRTunes evenings. Bands wishing to partake in the FORRTunes evenings can contact Albert (albert@forr.co.za/083-399-3066).
